The Majority of Donkeys, Ponies and Horses at River Link have been rescued from the evil hands of the meat man at Beeston sales by the founder of the sanctuary Marion Thompson. Marion has never asked for donations for the upkeep of any of the animals that require a lot of looking after, ie hay, straw, vet bills, land rental, fencing, stables etc etc. her small band of volunteers give as much time as they can to help with the everyday chores. Why does she do it? Slogging her backside off everyday? She does it because she 'CARES' she cares about the animals that are destined for the abattoir in this country and abroad. River Link now provides a safe, loving and carefree environment for these beautiful animals to live out the rest of their days feeling cherished and happy. We are passionate about our animals, but we need your help. Just a small donation when you can or by adopting one of our animals will help enormously with the ever increasing costs.
